“YES I CAN!” STUDENT AWARD

This award is presented to acknowledge the achievements of children and youth with disabilities (2-21 years old), to encourage children and youth with disabilities to seek their highest potential, and to increase public awareness of the abilities, aspirations, and personal qualities of people with disabilities.

CEC OUTSTANDING ADMINISTRATOR AWARD

The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) Outstanding Administrator Award recognizes a public school principal, assistant principal, or superintendent who has been a driving force in his/her school. The Council recognizes the recipient for commitment, leadership, and dedication to services for students with disabilities. This award honors an administrator who has made significant contributions to school programs for students with disabilities for at least the last two years.

EDUCATOR AWARD NOMINATIONS

Eva Robinson Memorial Award: This award is given to the outstanding
special education teacher in Oklahoma. The nominee for this award must spend all of his/her professional time as a teacher of special students.
 Special Educator of the Year: This award honors an outstanding special
educator in Oklahoma. The nominee must currently be employed in an area of special education (teaching/non-teaching).
 Outstanding Regular Education Teacher: This award honors an
outstanding regular education teacher in Oklahoma. The nominee must currently be employed in an Oklahoma public school. They must have taught in a regular curriculum for a minimum of three years and have made a significant contribution to the education of exceptional children within that setting.
 Maurice P. Walraven Award: This award recognizes and honors an
outstanding member of the Oklahoma Federation of the council for Exceptional Children. The nominee must be or have served as a Chapter /Division/State officer and made a significant contribution to CEC and to the advancement of the quality of life for exceptional children.

PARAPROFESSIONAL AWARD NOMINATION

This award is presented annually at the Oklahoma Council for Exceptional Children Annual Conference. It recognizes an outstanding paraprofessional in Oklahoma who works with students with exceptionalities
